Safeguarding and Safety

Safeguarding

Safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children is everyone’s responsibility.  Everyone who comes into contact with children and their families and carers has a role to play in safeguarding children.

To ensure we fulfil this responsibility at Hartford Junior School, all professionals are trained to ensure their approach is child-centred; what is in the best interest of the child at all times. No single professional can have a full picture of a child’s needs and circumstances. If children and families are to receive the right help at the right time everyone who comes into contact with them has a role to play in identifying concerns and the sharing of information, on a 'need to know' basis. The Safeguarding team will ensure the information is collated and dealt with appropriately.

The Safeguarding team at Hartford Junior School is led by the Headteacher, Steve Davis. The team is made up of Mrs Kate Ruddock, Deputy Headteacher and Mrs Karen Brooks, Inclusion Officer.

Online Safety

In an increasingly digital world it’s important that our students, parents and carers feel that their information is protected and safe. This is why the Trust has a robust Data Protection Policy, which can be viewed here.

If you want further information about how to keep your child safe online please look at the following links. These will provide you with a wealth of information and enable you to report any undesirable sites you find.

The Breck Foundation is a self-funding charity which raises awareness about ‘playing safe’ while using the internet. www.breckfoundation.org
