Student Voice

At Hartford Junior School we want to help pupils become valuable citizens who have a voice in the way the world works - and have something to say about it!

One of the most prominent ways we promote this is through our School Council. Every year, each class votes for 2 of their classmates to represent them. These representatives then share their views about the way the school is run, and ways they can be an active part of their community.

School Councillors take an important role in leading our charitable events like Children In Need and Comic Relief. They represent the school during visits to public places and help share information with their classmates. Each year one pupil is elected as Chair of the School Council and they lead the discussions that are held at each meeting.

The role of School Councillor is a special honour, and one in which the children excel.
