Hartford Junior School is an Academy of The Cam Academy Trust. The Trust and the local advisory board agree to accept the Admission Policy guidelines produced by Cambridgeshire County Council.
Children are admitted to school at the beginning of the school year (September - August) in which they are 8. The online application process opens in September and closes in January. Parents are advised if they have been successful in securing a place in April.
We hope that Hartford Junior School is your first choice and would love to welcome your child into our Year 3 class in September. If you would like a tour of the school* to see our classrooms and facilities and to meet some of the staff, please contact the school, we will do our best to facilitate a convenient time.
*please note these bespoke tours take place after school, children are welcome and take approximately 30 minutes, please book through the school office.
If your child/ren was born between 1.9.2017 and 31.8.2018 and are due to start a Junior School in September 2025, applications can be made via the Admissions website. More information is available on how to apply and Admissions Guide for 2024-25 guide is on their website.
Parents will need to put requests for accelerated or deferred admission in writing to the Local Authority. For more information please click here to go to the relevant page on the county council website.
This is for children born between 1 September 2013 and 31 August 2014, who are currently in Year 6 and live in Cambridgeshire and attend the Junior School, for transferring to Year 7 for September 2025.
Once your child has completed Key Stage 2 [Year 3 through to Year 6] they do not automatically move to St Peter’s Secondary School [A Cam Academy Trust School]. Please note parents must apply for a Secondary place for their child's Key Stage 3+ education using the online application process as above.
Children who have an Educational Health Care Plan [EHCP] that names the school will be admitted.
Information for new starters can be found in First Steps booklet which can be accessed here.
